#010 - Everything is an opportunity
You never know when opportunity might come your way. Training myself to look for the good in things has made this easier. When you purposefully try to look at things in your life as glass half-full, everything starts to become clearer. I used to waste time and energy revolving around negative aspects of life (e.g., someone cuts me off in traffic, I stub my toe, I get into a fight with a family member). I guess it takes some time and maturation to be able to look at what has happened to you and what will happen to you as a positive, no matter what.
"Woe is me" is a popular saying. It's the easy road. Whenever something negative happens, just give in to it. I refuse. It takes more time and energy to focus on the negative. Since studying philosophy in college and in my 20s, specifically Stoicism, I have learned it's not worth it to focus on what you cannot control. Instead, focus on what is in front of you. Appreciate the details and find meaning in each moment in life. Life is short, but when everything is an opportunity, it becomes endless.
