#021 - Back like I never left

After a weekend in the woods of West Virginia, I have finally recovered from the 15 mile trail relay race. It taught me that preparation is key. If you want to put on a good performance make sure the hay is in the barn. Just like software development, endurance is an important factor. The endurance to continuously learn new skills, improve your existing ones, and adapt to any and every situation is just like training for a distance race. Almost every day of the week I run or workout in preparation for races. Why should building an application be any different? If I can show up and make progress 5-7 times a week, the possibility of success are drastically increased, similar to training for a marathon. Enjoying the process is also part of the goal as well.
