#029 - Make it a race sometimes

It's been exciting to set a goal for myself of launch this project in 2 weeks (I started it before, but I'm not counting that). I am currently listening to a podcast with Pieter Levels. He started many startups/side projects that turned into businesses including, but not limited to Nomad List, PhotoAI, and RemoteOk. The "just ship it" mentality I am trying to cultivate is best exemplified by Pieter's output.

I am often lazy and unmotivated when it comes to my own projects. I don't think I've ever shipped a side project of mine successfully. It's a bit of a shame to be honest. When I first became a software developer I dreamt of building small side projects like this and even making money off them. Something about collecting fat paychecks led to complacency. Now that I don't have a job anymore it's time to get back on the horse.

Work in short bursts. Ship quickly. Make it simple. Addition by subtraction.
